photos and receipts for the car's engine and transmission. The second generation
Corvette might just be one of the best cars ever created. With plenty of power
and striking good looks, these Chevys are extremely fun to drive, inspiring a
cult-like following and providing one of the most enjoyable ownership experiences
on the planet. This well-done C2 pro-tourer is an amazing classic that's ready
for years of endless cruising thanks to a custom chassis, tastefully upgraded
aesthetics and 556 horses of supercharged LSA small block! Want to put some
killer American muscle in your garage? Check out this slick split-window Vette!

BODYWORK/TRIM A jaw-dropping classic that was long ago separated from its
original drivetrain, this stunning Sting Ray is the product of a documented,
ground-up restoration that was extremely thorough and exceptionally detailed.
That rebuild is capped by a smooth and solid body, which hides gauged panel
gaps under glossy PPG Fisker Silver tri-stage. That display opens with tucked
bumpers, which reflect a stainless grille and bullet-style parking lamps. Above
that grille, a shaved header panel fronts a '63-exclusive hood, which leads the
eye past matte wipers to stainless-trimmed glass. At the sides of that hood, a
sinuous profile hangs familiar bowtie mirrors between shaved fenders, rowdy
side-pipes and traditional door handles. And at the back of that profile, a subtle
fuel filler rides a shaved deck, which shades a chrome tag frame, monochromatic
taillights and two more tucked bumpers. ENGINE This split-window's top-notch
restoration is built around a stout, 6.2 liter LSA V8 that, based on GM's award-
winning Generation IV small block, utilizes an internally polished Lingenfelter
supercharger to twist 556 horsepower into 551 lb./ft. of earth-moving torque!
Dressed in a custom shroud, and seated in a custom, fully finished bay, the big
engine shows surprisingly well. At the front of that shroud, a quality Concept
One accessory drive spins modern power steering, a polished alternator and a
coated A/C compressor beneath custom air induction. In front of those ancillaries,
a C&R Racing radiator sports dual SPAL cooling fans. Speaking of cooling, there's
a requisite water-to-air intercooler. Fires are sparked by familiar AC Delco plug
wires. Exhaust exits through Jet Hot-coated LSA manifolds. And details are on
point, with a familiar Wilwood master cylinder complementing trick hydro-dipped
texturing that gives the car's valve covers and supercharger a slick, carbon
fiber appearance.

DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION Park this pro-tourer on a lift and you'll find a spotless
undercarriage that's prepped, primed and ready to roar. A Centerforce dual-disc
clutch kicks a Tremec T56 Magnum 6-speed, which turns a fifth-generation
Camaro differential that's finished with 3.42 gears. That world-class driveline is
an integral part of a custom-fabricated chassis, built from 2x4 boxed tubing,
which hangs QA-1 coil-overs and Speedway Engineering sway bars inside a
sixth-generation Corvette Z06 suspension. Quick stops are a cinch thanks to
sixth-generation Corvette Z06 calipers, which utilize six pistons up front and
four pistons out back to squeeze four drilled rotors. Naturally, the aforementioned
power steering fuels a modern rack-and-pinion set-up. And the sixth-generation
Corvette theme continues with chromed Z06 wheels throwing torque through
two 275/35ZR18 Nitto Invos and two 325/30ZR19 Nitto Invos.

INTERIOR Pop the lightweight doors and you'll find a tastefully tweaked interior
that continues this Sting Ray's striking visuals. Front and center, shortened
sixth-generation Corvette buckets sport custom leather hides. In front of those
seats, a leather-wrapped dash hangs custom-seated Auto Meter telemetry and
colorful Dual audio above custom-integrated Vintage Air climate control. At the
center of that trifecta, a hand-built console anchors buttons for Nu Relics power
windows behind a booted shifter. In front of the driver, a D-shaped Billet
Specialties
wheel laps a tilting Flaming River column. And behind the passengers, a big Kicker
amp jolts a big Kicker sub and dual Kenwood speakers.
